Drawing from the enduring folk romance of Dhola and Maru, the Kathputli Collection brings Rajasthan’s centuries-old puppetry tradition into a contemporary sculptural language. Carried through generations by poetry, songs and storytelling, the tale follows Dhola, the prince of Narwar, and Maru, the princess of Pugal, whose lives unfold across the desert.

The collection draws from the world surrounding their lore, bringing the royal families of Pugal and Narwar into the ensemble. Reimagined in handblown glass, the figurines translate the visual language of Kathputli into expressive silhouettes, where translucent surfaces and vivid colour heighten their theatrical quality. Each traces a figure from the tale, carrying a fragment of its story into a new form. Together, the collection transforms Rajasthan’s centuries-old storytelling tradition into a series of contemporary objects, where folklore, craft and design come together in glass.
